It was a normal day. I was chatting with my best friend in the kitchen. Were bored so I decided to send a text message to a random number and see what happened. So, I texted "Feel like talking?" and waited to see if anyone would reply. To my amazement, someone did, a guy. He just typed "Yes". That day we had a great hour or two, texting back and forth. When he asked me to call him, I didn´t hesitate. We both had the same sense of humor, although it was strange at first.. We talked just as easily as when we´d been texting.

I´d just gotten out of a relationship so I wasn´t looking for a boyfriend. But over the next few months Carlos and I kept in touch every day. Although I wasn´t overly impressed with the photo he sent me of himself, when we talked on the phone I found myself becoming more and more attracted to him. We met for the first time in a cafe in my city. He came down from another twon. I was very nervous, and met my best friend for a pep talk before I went to meet him. He was much better looking in person and we smiled at each other for ages. Seeing him smile for the first time is something I´ll never forget. From then on we saw each other constantly, meeting up at cafes and getting together on weekends. One year later, we were married. Now I can´t imagine life without him. I guess he was just out there waiting for me.

When I finally met her, I thought she was stunning. That evening I drove back to Baltimore knowing the relationship wasn´t going to end there.  I said to Andrea: "What we do is either make a serious commitment or nip it in the bud". 

I left my family and friends, but I ´ve never regretted the move for a second. On our wedding day I was ecstatic. There was nothing I wanted more.
