Expressing quantity

Replace the words in italics with 'very little', 'a little', 'very few', 'a few', 'fewer', or 'less'.

1. There was a lot of coffee at the meeting, but hardly any was drunk.

2. I'm on a diet, so I'll just have three or four grapes.

3. Children don't have as much respect for their parents as they used to.

4. Lots of people have tried to cross the Sahara, but not many have succeded.

5. Mario can speak fluent Japanese and some French.

6. Not as many people read magazines nowadays.

7. Not many people manage to become 100% fluent in a language.

8. It's been two or three months since we last saw him.

9. There isn't very much I can do to help you solve your problem.
