Describing a place

My favorite place is the Union Garden, there are several reasons I chose this place. First, it’s very nice and it’s an outdoor place, which is located in the downtown. I like it because it is picturesque, but the most important reason is that there I gather with my friends. Even though it’s always full, it is a nice place to talk and spend time with friends. In the afternoons, it’s not too noisy. We usually spend the weekdays’ afternoons.

I also like it because I can meet new people. There I’ve met very strange people; once I saw an impressively thin man. When I saw him, I thought he was sick, but then I saw him again and he behaves pretty normal.

Another reason I like this place is because foreign people usually gather there, and I can listen to their conversations. I like listening to them because it is a way to practice my listening skill in the languages I’m studying English, French and Italian, though it’s rarely to find Italian people.

Well, not everything is nice, at night it can get very noisy and there are a lot of beggars, especially children asking for money. And I hate the musicians there because they always play the same songs and I can´t hear my friends when we are talking.

In general, I enjoy a lot spending my time there with my friends. So, it is my favorite place.
