Giving directions in a big city

Giving directions is very important when people don´t know how they can get to a specific place. One day I was walking in the street and a woman asked me about the hotel where she was staying, I live in a big city so my instructions where:

Come out of the car park and turn right into Juarez Street.

Go along Juarez Street for about a mile until you reach the roundabout.

Go over the roundabout (second exit) and keep going straight ahead until you arrive at the second set of traffic lights.

Turn left into Pastitos Avenue and keep going for about 2 miles. You will go under a bridge and past a pub on your right called ‘Fly’.

When you arrive at the crossroads, turn right into Plane Lane.

Go past the swimming pool and the playground, and take your third right into Independence Road (be careful as there are speed bumps along here – don’t go above 20mph).

Finally, take your second right into Base Walk. The hotel is at the end of the road – it’s on the corner, opposite the old school.

I don´t know if she could find the hotel but I did my best! Do you think I did ok? Can you give an example of a similar experience you had and the directions you gave?
